How I Found my Passion in Lymphatic Therapies
I began my personal wellness journey in the early 70’s at the young age of 21. My own health challenges led me to the beginning of a lifelong education in wellness, lifestyle choices and self care. I am passionate about educating, empowering and inspiring my clients to live life at the highest level.
Over four decades of study, I have had the honor to intern with many pioneers in the natural healing field. My most memorable experience was assisting Dr. Bernard Jensen at his sanitarium in Escondido, California where his nutritional and tissue cleansing programs were world renowned. I traveled for two years with Ann Wigmore, a pioneer in the raw food movement, seeking an understanding of fasting and the healing potential of green plants. In the 1980’s I was in the middle of the natural healing movement in Northern California with Dr. Elson Haas, an integrative family physician of 40 years. Dr. Hass is one of the fathers of integrated medicine helping patients improve their health with focuses on prevention and lifestyle. Currently Dr. Hass is the medical director of Preventive Medical Center of Marin in San Rafeal, CA. He teaches us that our health is in our own hands more than we realize. I interned with the Gerson Institute, Hipppocrates Clinic and Center for Total Health in Solana Beach, California. A student of Edgar Cayce’s teachings and advanced studies in lymphatic modalities have taken me from Montecatini, Italy to Santa Barbara, California with Allan Mills to lymphatic cupping with Anita Shannon under the inspiring skies of France.
While on holiday in Figurine Valdarno just outside of Florence, I experienced my first lymphatic massage. In Montecatini Terme, Italy I was trained in the Vodder techniques of manual lymphatic drainage. Back in California I integrated this manual therapy into my private practice for four years. While I did see some improvement, it wasn’t as significant or lasting as I had expected. In 1987 I was introduced to Electro Lymphatic Therapy while at a seminar in Hawaii. I contacted Dr. De Montfort, the inventor, to learn more about the technology and integrating it into my own practice. For several years I hosted Dr. De Montfort and assisted him in group trainings on the use of the lymphatic instrument.
From 1993 to 2023 I operated my wellness center in the seaside village of La Jolla, California called Cove Wellness Lymphatic Clinic. Just steps from the Pacific Ocean, the serenity of this world renowned cove was an ideal setting for rejuvenation.
Based on the European principles of wellness and prevention, the clinic expanded and grew along with the increase of awareness and popularity of lymphatic therapies in the United States. Our natural healing services and wellness retreats attract guests from around the world.
Cove Wellness has always been somewhat of an enigma. It was born out of a desire to make the world a little better place by sharing information. I wanted to create an environment to educate and inspire others on the self healing potential of the body through detoxification and lifestyle choices. The premise of what I learned is that illness is far easier to prevent than it is to cure. Natural wellness therapies can often become a catalyst for change and the first step to a healthier lifestyle.
My humble gratitude to all the therapists over the years who have brought so much to Cove Wellness through the transformational work and who have allowed me to do what I love and believe in every day. Each guest brings a gift and an opportunity to give back. Sharing these purifying therapies with others through the clinic has been my soul’s purpose and an honor.
To gift myself more time and focus to teach and consult, I sold Cove Wellness Lymphatic Clinic in 2023. Today it is thriving and remains much the same, emphasizing the importance of prevention with a synergy of proprietary lymphatic treatments.
